Penguin Parade

Find the penguin in Tasmania’s north during a 300 km ride with a 20-hour time limit, including all breaks. Starting in Hadspen and cycling to Penguin via the scenic route! Explore northern Tasmania! Gentle hills with a few rollers along the way. We offer no guarantees with regard to wind and other weather. Come prepared with lights, reflective gear, and all-weather clothing. Don’t forget your camera for a photo of the penguin!!

UPDATE: The route has changed a little bit! It still goes to Penguin. It's still very scenic. But we hope it will provide a safer journey on quieter roads and paths!

The chart below shows the number of riders who completed Permanents in each of the years since 2013. 

We have quite a large collection of Permanents in Tasmania allowing riders to explore much of the scenery here. One of our goals for 2025 is to organise the Permanents and add a few more.

Permanent Brevets are "events" that may be ridden at any time by Audax Australia Members and visitors from overseas who are members of long-distance cycling clubs affiliated with ACP. As a minimum, such visitors must have a one-month Audax Australia Membership.

They are intended for experienced randonneurs because riders will be on their own and must be self-sufficient.
